Plug the black probes into the COM port.

Connect the red probe to the V, Ω port.

Now contact the probes with each other. If the meter beeps or provides a reading of 0 that implies the meter works well.

Now attach the probes to both ends of the component or wire that you wish to test.

If the meter reads 0 and beeps, it signifies the passage is complete (close) or the component enables the flow of current.

CONTINUITY TEST MODE

If the meter does not beep & display 1 or OL, it implies the route is broken (open) or the component does not allow the flow of current.

The continuity is non-directional, it does not matter which probe should be coupled to which side. The outcome is usually the same except in rare circumstances like diodes which allow the flow in just one direction.
